- Purchase separately if someone has already bought your Team Number
- One flat rate for all – No extra local and/or state fees
- One check allows a Team Manager to work with multiple teams
- Required for any person over 18 who will be responsible for managing a team**

- Destination Imagination is administered through Affiliate organizations worldwide. Each non-profit Affiliate is made up of volunteers that dedicate countless hours to our mission.
- Some Affiliates have directed us to collect fees with the purchase of Team Kits and Team Numbers. Affiliates may also charge additional tournament registration fees. Click here to find your Affiliate and view posted fees.
- Teams are responsible for all material costs associated with their solution presentation. While each Challenge solution has a budget, what a team spends as they prototype, prepare and practice can vary greatly.
**BACKGROUND CHECKS
- US Team Managers: If you have a current Level 3 Complete Check from Sterling Volunteers, you do not need to purchase a Background Check. Please email us at [email protected] for directions on how to share that report with DIHQ.
- Non-US Team Managers: Please contact your Affiliate Director to learn more about the Background Check requirement in your location. You can find your Affiliate Director on our Locations Page.

AGE & GRADE REQUIREMENTS
Students from kindergarten through university level participate in the
Destination Imagination Challenge Program. The following are the
age/grade requirements to participate in the 2020-21 Destination
Imagination Challenge Program:
Rising Stars®
Preschool through 2nd grade
Elementary Level
Kindergarten-5th Grade or
no student born before June 15, 2009
MIDDLE LEVEL
6th-8th Grade or
no student born before June 15, 2006
Secondary Level
9th-12th Grade or
no student born before June 15, 2002
College & University Level
Full-time, post-secondary students enrolled in college, university, trade, or technical school or in the military. College-bound high school seniors who are taking accredited courses offered by a college or university that will qualify for course credit when entering higher education.
